This weekend started the opening night (until midnight) one of the masterpieces of Italian Renaissance that is now protected by UNESCO.
I’m talking about Villa d’Este in Tivoli. Only 2,000 visitors were allowed, and Saturday night my wife, my two children and I, whit a couple of friends were among them. Unfortunately, the flow of water over the centuries eroded the sculptures and dented the precious marbles. Much more had to be the impact when the marble were polished and the sculptures intact like during the inauguration of the villa in September of 1572 … |
This is a beautiful, magical night shot.
I'd like to visit that garden one day.
